RewindAmp Support

Answers for importing music, organizing large libraries, using skins, and getting the most from RewindAmp.

What is RewindAmp?

RewindAmp is a local macOS music player for your own audio files. It combines a folder-first music library with classic skins, a ten-band equalizer, playlists, and an audio-driven spectrum analyzer.

Which audio formats are supported?

RewindAmp supports MP3, FLAC, WAV, OGG, Opus, M4A, AAC, WMA, AIFF, APE, and other formats supported by its playback engine.

Where does RewindAmp find my music?

You choose individual songs or folders with the macOS file picker, or drag them into the app. RewindAmp only accesses locations you explicitly select.

Does importing change or delete my original music?

No. RewindAmp reads your selected audio files to build the playlist. If you configure an optional managed music folder, the app can copy imports there; it never deletes your originals.

Can RewindAmp handle a large music collection?

Yes. The library groups music into a collapsible folder tree, remembers folder state, and reads metadata in a background worker so playback and the interface remain responsive during large imports.

What are RewindAmp skins?

RewindAmp can load classic .wsz and compatible .zip skin files. You can import a skin you already own or optionally search the community-run online skin catalog from inside the app.

Does RewindAmp support playlists?

Yes. You can open M3U, M3U8, and PLS playlists and export your current playlist as M3U8.

What macOS version is required?

RewindAmp supports macOS 10.15 Catalina or later and runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Does RewindAmp upload my music or track me?

No. Music playback, metadata reading, equalization, and spectrum analysis happen locally on your Mac. RewindAmp has no advertising, analytics, accounts, or usage tracking.
